Eddie Strickland, Sr. was born on March 17, 1942 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the union of the late Carton and Ida B. Strickland. He was the sixth of ten children. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Strickland; three sisters, Susan Simmons, Freddie Quincy and Mae West Anthony; three brothers, Carlee Strickland, Melvin Strickland and Bruce W. Strickland.
He attended Coleman High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and later moved to Saint Louis, Missouri in 1963 with his wife, Ledell Strickland. The love that they shared was very strong and they looked forward to a bright future in Saint Louis, Missouri. To this union they had three children.
He was employed at Labarge Pike and Steel Company for over fifty years as a foreman until his retirement. He also held a job as a security guard.
Eddie enjoyed fishing, motor cycle riding with his brother, Melvin and traveling. He loved his cowboy boots and belts along with his hats and jewelry.
On the day of February 25, 2021 Eddie peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord.
